I’m Tia!

I qualified as a registered veterinary nurse in 2020 and since then I’ve worked in lots of different areas, from emergency care, referral nursing to general practice. While I love my work, I started to notice something missing. Animal behaviour often wasn’t really recognised in vet practices and I found myself wondering how I could make visits less stressful and more comfortable for the animals.

I was lucky enough to work alongside some brilliant behaviourists/ dog trainers in practice and I learnt so much from them. That’s when I realised behaviour was something I needed to continue to learn about. I wanted to share that knowledge and help owners understand their dogs better. So, here I am, diving into a clinical animal behaviour course and starting this exciting new journey!

Outside of work, I’m an animal mum to three, my whippet Albie (or Albert) and two cats, Gary and Bean. Albie is my first puppy and training him really sparked my love for behaviour and training (even though he turned out to be an easy one!).

I also volunteer with local charities in my spare time, often helping to hand rear kittens. That’s actually how I ended up with Bean. He and his sister were found under a shop at just two weeks old, I bottle-fed and raised them until they were old enough to be adopted. But… my other cat Gary needed a friend and well, Bean never left , my first foster fail, oops!

They appear to be playing or training in a fenced outdoor area with green artificial turf and agility obstacles.
